These shirts were designed for the Polyidus Colony (later to become a Chapter) of Alpha Rho Chi, a professional architecture fraternity, at Southern Polytechnic State University.
As a colony (and not yet a chapter) of APX, the shirt was held to certain design constraints: we were not allowed to use the greek letters for Alpha Rho Chi, nor the word “chapter.” Since it is a professional architecture fraternity, the members agreed that the design should reflect this architectural connection in some way. For this reason, the golden spiral was used for organizing the composition. The chapter’s cadency mark is featured as the emblem on the front. My role in designing the shirt, as the Graphic Design Chair, was to produce the design from initial conception to the final image for printing, while taking into consideration feedback from group leaders.
